Icon Alliance GT Helmet: Rubatone & Primary

Whether you love them or hate them, there is no denying that Icon is a powerhouse in the motorcycle industry. We often see them at the forefront of moto style and design, although they have yet to come out with a helmet that includes a drop down sunvisor. Which is why we are so excited to see them releasing the new Icon Alliance GT. This lid is the first Icon helmet which offers a drop down sunvisor, finally negating the need for Icon riders to carry both a clear and a tinted shield. Prior to this new helmet, if you wanted a drop down sunvisor you had to go with a more conservative looking helmet that lacked the style and statement that Icon is known for.

Icon Alliance GT Primary Motorcycle HelmetIcon Alliance GT Rubatone Helmet graphic comes in a stealthy matte black finish to help keep you flying under the radar. This specific graphic ships with a RST Gold Mirror drop down internal sunvisor for an extra style punch. Although this drop down sunvisor is replaceable, so if gold isn’t your thing it can easily be swapped out.

The Icon Alliance GT Primary Helmet graphic, while fairly tame by Icon standards, is being released in 6 different colors, so there should be something for everyone. It can be had in Black, Red, Pink, Blue, Blue/Red, and a Hi-Viz Yellow/White/Black. The Primary will ship with a RST Silver Mirror drop down internal sunvisor, which is also replaceable.

Icon Alliance GT Primary Helmet Review:

This Alliance GT is a long time coming and we think it will be a major hit. So if you are stylish rider in the market for a new helmet, and you hate carrying two shields, this may be the perfect helmet for you. I would strongly advise giving this new lid from Icon some serious consideration.

Alpinestars GP Pro Tech Air Race Suit: A Beautiful Leather Robe

  • I don’t know about you guys but when I put on a leather suit in preparation to ride on two wheels I know it is going to be a good day. I also feel dangerously invincible when I am robed in beautiful leathers. For those of you out there who have not yet felt the sensation of dragging your knee on the tarmac around a corner at 70+ mph you really need to add it to the bucket list. I am sure there are quite a few of us out there who have dragged our knee on the ground but it was as we were falling off of our bikes! That is certainly not something I would recommend adding to the bucket list but it happens to the best of us. For those two wheeled knee draggers out there I am here to chat with you about the new Alpinestars GP Pro Tech Air Race Suit.

Alpinestars Jackets: T-GP Air Pro & T-GP Pro Textile

What’s better than the Alpinestars T-GP R Air Jacket? Why, the Alpinestars T-GP Air Pro Jacket of course! The T-GP Pro Air Textile Jacket is a new addition to Alpinestars spring lineup, and it really puts the Pro in protection and the T in Textile (Haha…eh). It will stand alongside the Alpinestars T-GP Pro Textile Jacket as its sportier, hot-weather brother that covers for you when your leather parents are out of town. Confusing naming conventions aside, the new jacket adds an extra level of sporty protection to highly-ventilated hot weather comfort.

The only real downside to the jacket I found is its complicated name losing it a bit in the line-up.
This jacket is going to be available in 3 colorways, including the subtle all-black with white accents,  the sporty black/white/red colorblocking, and another black/white with hi-viz yellow accents. Regardless of your flavor of T-GP, the T-GP Pro Air is worth a high five and a good look.

Alpinestars Ridge 2 & Roam 2: Foot Dwellings for Spring

  • The summer of 2016 can't get here fast enough. I need an ADV bike to deal with these salt covered roads. Thankfully we have tons of brands dropping some great new products to look forward to. Alpinestars has got some new goodies headed our way and ohhhh buddy, it is looking good. I am here today to give you some info about the new Ridge 2 Air Boot and the Roam 2 Air Boot. These toe houses are going to be great additions for the new riding season.

Alpinestars Ridge 2 Air Motorcycle BootsAlpinestars Ridge 2 Air Boots come CE rated, no price increase over the old Roam, and they made some nice updates. Alpinestars added TPR velcro closures, extended the rear accordion bellow, upgraded the shift protector, and did I mention the CE rating? Oh right, I did -- but it’s so nice I’ll just say it twice. This is just a few of the changes from the old Roam; there is a laundry list of features that make the Ridge 2 Air Boots a top contender for the summer riding season.

Alpinestars Ridge 2 Air Boots Review:

Alpinestars Roam 2 Air Motorcycle BootsAlpinestars Roam 2 Air Boots are CE rated, they have 3 adjustable Velcro straps, dual density ankle cups that are backed with foam, and they have accordion stretch in the front flex zones and collar for superior comfort. The Ridge 2 Air Boots are nice for commuting or running around town. Obviously they will allow you to do much more than that, but if you are looking to take a step up in protection the Roam 2 WP is going to be a bit taller while maintaining the comfort and flexibility you will want when you are logging some serious miles in the saddle.

Alpinestars Roam 2 Air Boots Review:

If you like your feet and you want something to keep them nice and comfy, you might want to consider taking a look at the new Roam 2 Air or the Ridge 2 Air boots. They will offer great functionality for everyday riding while providing solid protection for all types of riders. Please do not be the “I don’t need gear, I don’t plan on crashing or riding aggressively” guy. Treat yourself to some nice toe houses and I know you and your feet will not regret it. We just scratched the surface with these new boots but hopefully you learned a thing or two. Ride safe out there guys and gals.

    Keep on keep'n on,

Alpinestars Women’s Gear: Stella SMX-1 R Boots & Stella SP Air Gloves

The sun is shining, the snow is melting, and I finally feel like the motorcycle industry is listening to their lady riders! When it comes to gear, I always find myself gravitating toward the men’s selection because let’s face it, not all gear is created equal. However, as you can see in the new Alpinestars Spring Collection, and particularly in the Alpinestars Stella SMX-1R Boots and Alpinestars Stella SP Air Gloves… someone is paying attention!

Alpinestars Stella SMX-1 R Motorcycle BootsAlpinestars Stella SMX-1 R Boots! Finally! I look at these boots and think “Yes!” because I am seeing everything that the men’s version has. Except well, I do see some pink .. but we’ll get to that. The new Stella SMX-1R and Alpinestars Stella SMX-1 R Vented Boots are made of durable and abrasion resistant synthetic microfiber which makes these little gals vegan friendly! Something I am really liking on these boots are the redesigned sole for added grip, control and comfort. And get this! They are certified CE-Level 2! I’m not surprised, with features like a TPU-injected heel counter, TPU toe slider and dual density ankle protector, you cannot go wrong! These look very easy to slip on and off with the side zip, and I’m happy to see that the zipper is enveloped by extra microfiber to protect the shiny bits on your bike! To top it all of, there’s a pop of reflection at the heel and a familiar shift pad on the top of the toe. But again, they’re pink…

Alpinestars Stella SP Air <a href=motorcycle gloves" border="0" ://images3.revzilla.com/product_images/0174/5158/alpinestars_glove4_wsp_air_black_white_detail.jpg" height="200" title="" width="200However, I am very happy to see that the new Alpinestars Stella SP Air Gloves come in an all black or black and white version… with no pink in sight! Don’t get me wrong, I love owning that I am a woman rider… but I do not need everything in pink! Give me brown, green, blue, red, black, yellow, orange… just please, no more pink. Anyway, I digress. Other than the fact that these are optimized for a women’s fit, these gloves are an exact copy of the men’s version. However, with full-grain leather construction, these are not vegan (sorry!). If you are looking for a protective leather summer glove, Alpinestars has delivered with perforated leather and 3D mesh inserts for great airflow. I am happy to see that the Stella SP Air have a TPU knuckle, protected seams, palm slider and extra padding in the fingers, palm and hand. I can never understand how some women’s gloves will come with a pad in the palm but the men’s version has a TPU palm slider. Thank you Alpinestars for listening to us!!! The last thing I want to note is the new stretch insert between the thumb and palm. No more thumb workout trying to operate controls with a glove that doesn’t give! Again, Alpinestars is listening.

All in all, I cannot wait for the new 2016 Spring Collection from Alpinestars. They really are paying attention to their women riders and actually giving us what we need. So, when that snow thaws and the sun makes your heart sing, you can rest easy knowing that Alpinestars has your back (and feet and hands). Ride safe ladies, I’ll see you on the road! Just not (entirely) in pink!

Alpinestars Boots: Oscar Twin Drystar & Stella Kerry WP

If you were hoping that Alpinestars was going to provide a few new additions to their already extremely well produced and versatile footwear collection, I have some great news for you. They have decided to offer some functional and classic stepped boots for both male and female riders by introducing the Oscar Twin Drystar and the Kerry WP Ladies Riding Shoes.

Alpinestars Oscar Twin Drystar Motorcycle BootsAlpinestars Oscar Twin Drystar Boots will fit seamlessly into the rest of the Alpinestars Oscar collection. This shoe offers the same vintage, classic look accompanied by all of the proper riding protection that you will need throughout your daily commute. It is constructed of faded & distressed full grain leather that is double and triple stitched throughout with a reinforced heel/toe box, and treated with Alpinestars own Drystar water protection. The main difference between this shoe and the rest of the Oscar collection is its stepped rubber outsole, which will undoubtedly help the rider lock into their footpeg and help provide that classic riding shoe look. This shoe is offered in  but one color (Grey), retails at $249, and will look great under your pants.

Alpinestars Oscar Twin Drystar Boots Review:

Alpinestars Stella Kerry WP Motorcycle BootsAlpinestars Stella Kerry WP Boots that has been specifically designed for women riders. Alpinestars did a nice job offering an entry level womens riding shoe that keeps a great, classic look while still offering protection and function. Since this shoe is ankle high,  it will provide ankle cups to help provide further reinforcement. This shoe also comes equipped with a waterproof liner to offer an extra step of functionality. This shoe is offer in two colors (Black & Brown), retails at $199, and will fit about a half size large for most women.

Alpinestars Stella Kerry WP Boots Review:

Both of these styles will fit like a traditional American riding shoe for their respective genders. So if your looking to give yourself an inconspicuous riding shoe that also provides some hidden protection and basic function for your everyday riding, look no further.

Alpinestars Jackets: Viper Air, T-GP Pro, & T-GP Air Pro

I am looking at my phone and the weather app is telling me that it feels like -1 degree, and snow is possible here in Philadelphia in the imminent future. That said, I am here to assure you that Spring is right around the corner. I hope. Maybe. It has to come sometime right?
Alpinestars Viper Air Textile Motorcycle JacketAlpinestars Viper Air Textile Jacket. Alpinestars’ take on their Viper Air is if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. The Viper Air is one of their best selling mesh jackets and they decided to only do a light restyling for 2016. Since the update is only cosmetic, they have not raised the price.

Since writing this, the temperature has gone up 2 degrees. Spring is on its way (slowly).

Alpinestars Stella Devon Jacket: The Full Spectrum

Do you remember the Vika Jacket?  Good looking, stylish, protective - but hot as hell in the summer. Well, if you don’t mind an Astars logo or two and you live in a hot / humid climate, you’ll want to check out the Alpinestars Stella Devon Airflow Jacket.  Simple, stylish, actually protective?  It’s been awhile since I’ve worn women’s clothes, but now might be the time to start.

Alpinestars Devon Leather Motorcycle Jacket Review:

For too long has women’s gear just been a dumbed-down version of a men’s piece.  No longer!  Alpinestars is taking a step in the right direction here, with a proper performance jacket that doesn’t skimp on protection.  It’s not coated in pink dye either, which is always nice.

  • Keeping it lightweight and oh-so-airy, the Alpinestars SPX Air Carbon Gloves arrive ready to make a statement in 2016. It’s cold now. Just that time of year. But in the coming months the seasons will change, the temperatures will rise, and our hands will get sweaty and gross if we stick with full leathers or our insulated gloves of the fall/winter. That doesn’t have to be the case with the SPX Air Carbon.

Alpinestars SPX Air Carbon <a href=motorcycle gloves" border="0" ://images1.revzilla.com/product_images/0174/9438/alpinestars_spx_air_carbon_gloves_black_yellow_detail.jpg" height="200" title="" width="200Constructed of supple full-grain leather that also incorporates 3D mesh at the top of the hand for superb comfort and airflow, the SPX Air gloves get an additional boost of protection from the Carbon compound injected TPR knuckle protector while still adhering to precise ergonomic specifications. Additional protection can be seen in the energy absorbing EVA foam at the fingers, palm, and thumb as well as the top of the hand and wrist areas. Touch screen compatibility adds to the ride-all-day, warm-weather, no hassle efficiency of the SPX Air Carbon, and they also come in a Women’s version with the Alpinestars Stella SP Air Carbon Gloves.

With warm weather fast approaching, the Alpinestars SPX Air Carbon and Stella Air Carbon gloves afford a streamlined, efficient, highly comfortable and solidly defensed pair of motorcycle gloves in which to move just as fast in the same direction.

Have fun out there, be safe, and as always…

    Enjoy the ride,
