Debt settlement scheme for pension funds shows impressive results in Greece

A total of 327,537 decisions for the settlement of debts worth 3.94 billion euros in total were issued by the deadline of a 120-tranche debt settlement scheme with pension funds, official figures showed on Friday. Labour and Social Affairs Minister Yiannis Vroutsis, speaking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), said: "We adhered to our commitment with the best debt settlement scheme ever. The 120-tranche settlement scheme exceeded all expectations, with the participation, by the end of the year, of more than 450,000 debtors with a total debt of 4.5 billion euros (one in three debtors to pension funds). But from now on, there will be no other settlement offered, everyone must keep up with their social insurance obligations".
