Greek President Pavlopoulos tours China and visits Huawei in Beijing

President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos paid a visit on Monday to Huawei's Executive Briefing Centre in Beijing, as part of an official five-day visit to the Asian country, according to ANA. Pavlopoulos met with Philip Jiang, Senior Vice President of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., in the presence of company staff and was briefed on Huawei's latest technology developments and its global reach vision. The company has been a strategic partner of Greece for over 15 years and provides secure and stable high-speed networks in the Greek market; it has expressed a strong interest in contributing to the country's digital economy.  Special mention was made of Huawei's Seeds for the Future programme, which assists talented university students train on cutting-edge technologies. Over 25 Greek university students have participated in the programme and another 10 will join it in November. At a teleconference at the Centre, Pavlopoulos and his delegation congratulated Greek students in the 2018 programme who shared experiences with him from trainings in Beijing and Shenzhen.
