European Commission adopts engagement strategy for the Western Balkans

A strategy for ‘A credible enlargement perspective for and enhanced EU engagement with the Western Balkans’ has been adopted by the European Commission.The aim is to point out the priorities and areas of joint reinforced cooperation, addressing the specific challenges faced by the region, in particular, the need for fundamental reforms and good neighbourly relations.The Commission has also announced six flagship initiatives to support the transformation of the Western Balkans, targeting specific areas of mutual interest. These include socio-economic development, digital agenda and transport and energy connectivity.EU-OSHA has a long-standing cooperation with countries in the Western Balkans under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), supported by the European Commission, to enable those countries to exchange knowledge and practices on occupational safety and health. Read the press release from the European Commission
