The improving economic climate in Greece is the focus of a two-day conference organized by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in Athens.Politicians, entrepreneurs and diplomats are participating in the conference that as President of the Chamber Simos Anastasopoulos said it has become an important yearly event in the Greek calendar.Keynote speakers include Greece's main opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Deputy PM Yiannis Dragasakis, US Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt and Greek and American entrepreneurs and investors.Speaking to Greek Reporter’s Babis Petrakis, Anastasopoulos noted that participants will discuss prospects for the Greek economy and in particular ways to further improve the business environment in order to attract investments.“Greece has become a champion of investment. However, investments up to now aimed at balancing out the fiscal imbalances in the Greek economy,” he pointed out.“The imbalances were corrected but this was done at the expense of the real economy”, he continued.Anastasopoulos underlined that what is required now is to proceed with structural reforms that are necessary to improve the business climate.“These structural reforms have no financial impact.
