Στο σημείο κλήθηκε η Πυροσβεστική, ενώ τις έρευνες για το συμβάν ανέλαβε η Κρατική Ασφάλεια. Νωρίτερα, λίγο πριν τα μεσάνυχτα, είχε σημειωθεί έκρηξη και σε είσοδο πολυκατοικίας στην οδό Διστόμου, στη Χαριλάου. Άγνωστοι τοποθέτησαν αυτοσχέδιο εκρηκτικό μηχανισμό αποτελούμενο από εύφλεκτο υγρό και γκαζάκι μπροστά στην είσοδο. Από την έκρηξη έσπασαν τα τζάμια της εισόδου. Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες, στη συγκεκριμένη πολυκατοικία διαμένει συνταξιούχος δικαστικός. Ο χώρος αποκλείστηκε από αστυνομικούς.
