1947 Mustang Motorcycle Rare Collectible (Davenport IA) $15000

QR Code Link to This Post The Mustang Motorcycles are very collectible for motorcycle and motorbike collectors and enthusiasts; whether you call it a motorcycle or motorbike; most people think of them as super deluxe motorbikes. Immediately after World War II there was a shortage of available automobiles in the United States as the war had curtailed the normal production of automobiles. Several companies came up with inexpensive two-wheel transportation to fill in the gap including Cushman Motor Scooters, Whizzer Motorbikes, Monarch Motorbikes and in California one of the most reliable small forms of transportation the Mustang (motorcycle/motorbike). Mustang Motorcylce as it was officially called some might call it a motorbike. The Mustang had a powerful side valve engine and a foot operated mechanical transmission as any normal motorcycle would. The Mustang was relatively small in size and because of the large horse power ratio to weight they were relatively very quick. Production started in 1947 and lasted a little over a decade. One of the most attractive of all the Mustangs was the 1947 Mustang with its very motorcycle look and shock absorbing front fork and its disk wheels. (Sorry we do not know the H.P. or cc of the engine). This is a running, restored 1947 Mustang. Check out the pictures and we are sure that you will be impressed. If you are a collector of these types of bikes this one might look great in your collection. They are relatively much more rare than the other above mentioned two wheel transportation and probably a lot more fun. They sit low to the ground and you can feel the tremendous pull of the acceleration that goes along with a very nice exhaust note.
