Brazilian Tourist Board Reveals New President

The Brazilian Tourist Board (Embratur) announced Paulo Senise would take over as the president of the organization.According to Turismo.gov.br, Senise was named president Friday after serving 18 years as director of sales, marketing and development for several international hotel chains. He holds degrees from the CUP Tourism College in Rio de Janeiro and Cornell University in New York.MORE Destination & Tourism Senise also worked as the Rio Convention & Visitors Bureau commercial and executive director for more than 11 years, as well as extensive experience in the private and public sectors.“I assume the position of president of Embratur at a special moment in the history of tourism in Brazil,” Senise said in a statement. “The positive agenda adopted by Minister Marcelo Alvaro and support for the sector demonstrated by President Jair Bolsonaro meet old demands of the sector and provide raw material for excellent tourism promotion in the international market.”The new president of Embratur was also the president of the Rio de Janeiro State Tourism Company (TurisRio) from 2015 to 2018, where he coordinated the development of the Marketing Plan for the state of Rio de Janeiro.Senise will now be responsible for the implementation of the National Tourism Policy regarding the promotion, marketing and support of the commercialization of Brazilian destinations, services and products in the international market.
