1966 Glassic (1931 Ford Model A Replica) Phaeton 4 seat Convertible (Ijamsville) $9500

QR Code Link to This Post Factory-built replica of a 1931 Ford Model A Phaeton (touring car). Built in 1966 by the Glassic company (see more info at http://glassicannex.org/history.htm). They did not sell kits, they sold complete running/driving cars. This one was produced in the first year the company was selling them, and is the 163rd built. It's a really heavy-duty fiberglass body, good solid doors/latches, full fenders, with a top that folds or can be quickly removed entirely. The car is on a slightly modified International Scout chassis (2wd) with a 152 Slant-4 engine, 3 speed manual trans, and Scout rear. Runs great thanks to upgrades including a pertronix electronic ignition and a Weber 32/36 DGV carb. The car has recently had more than $2500 in repairs and upgrades including new kingpins, leafspring bushings, and shackles. Steering box was replaced with a brand new Borgeson Saginaw 525 (big improvement over the stock Ross box). New heavy-duty tierod and draglink from IHPartsAmerica. New wheel cylinders and new brake master cylinder (converted to split system for added safety). New clutch slave cylinder, master cylinder, line, and hose. Runs great, the brakes work very well, and the steering is tight. It's still a '67 Scout chassis and although I'd say it drives better than when it was new, it is not a modern ride so please keep that in mind (manual steering, manual drum brakes, solid front axle, etc).Body shows no cracks or signs of any repairs/accidents. The paint is original and as such shows some crazing, especially on the more flexible spots like the hood and radiator cowl, but shines up pretty well with a little wax. Some of the chrome pieces like the headlights and door hinges have some pitting. Front seats were replaced by the previous owner with more modern bucket seats on sliding racks (original seats are included but would need some repairs). PO also installed a GM-style tilt steering column for more comfort (original is included in the sale). Rear seats have a couple small tears. Top is white marine vinyl and is weathered, but still soft enough to fold and doesn't have any cracks/tears.It's a fun little ride that you can fit the family in. Clean/clear title in my name. Winter sale price of $9,500. May take partial trade on a vintage motorcycle (Harley shovelhead project, CB750 '69-'78, vintage BMW airhead or /2, etc) with cash my way. Also interested in a good 4wd pickup for part trade, or trade straight up for a running/riding panhead or BMW /2 conversion bike. No shippers, no checks, no PayPal. Any questions please feel free to contact me.
