Popeyes Selling Emotional Support Chicken to Ease Holiday Travel Stress

Holiday travel is stressful, and Popeyes is doing their part to bring some 'emotional support' to travelers, with a tongue-in-cheek emotional support animal of their own: the “Emotional Support Chicken.”Meant "to provide a good-hearted laugh most need to get through stressful holiday air travel," according to a press release, the Emotional Support Chicken is a cardboard food carrier designed like a chicken with feathers and all.MORE Airlines & Airports The Emotional Support Chicken has a light-hearted description on the front that reads:"This chicken provides comfort and nourishment during stressful air travel. Unlike other chicken, it is marinated in real Louisiana spices for 12 hours and must be permitted to fly without restriction. Do not leave unattended, as Popeyes is not responsible for lost or stolen chicken."The Emotional Support Chicken is available to order with the three-piece tender combo.Unfortunately, not all travelers will be able to have an Emotional Support Chicken of their own, as they’re only available at the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Terminal C at Philadelphia International Airport.Emotional support animals are a real need for many travelers throughout the year, and organizations and airlines work hard to make sure this need isn’t abused.Popeyes, it seems, just wants to provide a smile or two (and some fried chicken) for those who might feel the stress and anxiety of holiday travel.
