Airport Thief Caught on Camera Stealing Thousands in Cash

The man who put the cash in the security bin goes through security but is stopped at the metal detector.MORE Airlines & Airports A man in a white shirt comes up behind him but makes it through security first and sees the cash in the envelopes, picks it up and pockets it as he walks away.The first man finally makes it through security and notices his cash is missing. He frantically searches through security bins looking for the lost cash but doesn’t find it.According to the Polizia di Stato, the man in the white shirt hid the money in the bathroom. It was found and the thief was apprehended and arrested.The man carrying the wads of cash told police that the money was to be used for medical treatment for a relative. The cash was returned.“Airports work closely with their security staff and local police forces to ensure that the nearly 300 million passengers that travel through UK airports every year do so in a safe and secure environment," a spokesperson for the Airport Operators Association told The Independent. "Thanks to this secure environment, incidents at UK airports are extremely rare. Airports will continue to focus on providing passengers with peace of mind during their travels.”
