Yamaha Xs1100S – 1979 (Buena Vista) $2000

QR Code Link to This Post I'm selling my beloved motorcycle. She is in great shape and is a constant surprise with the smooth yet powerful acceleration, predictable and steady handling (a period appropriate fork brace really helps with fork twisting that was reported when this bike came out) and pretty darn good braking for a bike this size with front and back discs (again includes a period appropriate upgrade of stainless brake lines which helps with immediacy). Look up this bike and you'll see it was a technical marvel at the time with giant (1100cc) displacement and insane (for the time) acceleration (first bike to beat a 12 second quarter mile). It was one of the first bikes to feature electronic ignition (I have the removable kick starter, but it should be used as a last resort and I've never needed it) as well as dual overhead cams (dohc). This Xs1100 in particular starts right up and idles calmly. She is still a rocket in a strait line and when the tech at Wells Moto checked compression it was still 90+% of original which is great for an almost 40 year old bike. There are almost no exterior or interior flaws on this beast other than a few chips or dents from 18,000 miles of regular use. I recently added a windscreen for use around BV and it makes a huge difference in ride comfort, but you can take it off easily if you'd prefer the windswept hair look and picking bugs out of your teeth.Only thing on my things to do list is to adjust the headlight orientation down a bit because it shines a bit too high on the road at night. Honestly, that's it and this bike is approaching its 40th birthday. Also please note that this is the standard (better looking in my opinion) version of the XS1100 not the cruiser which is definitely more common in the USA. So if you can't tell from above, I love this bike and am sad to be selling it. However, I've got a little one on the way and am (temporarily) giving up riding in exchange for a fancy camera to take pictures of this kid. I will not sell this bike for less than the price of a Fujifilm XT-3 with a good lens. I'd definitely do a straight up trade for that camera, but that'd be crazy luck. Please refrain from trying to scam me, I will not be sending this bike anywhere, though I come to denver intermittently and will meet people in between if you need as well. Also I'll need $2000 in my hand before you give her a spin, but you'll enjoy it if you do. Please text me or give a call if you're interested and give me some details that show you're not a robot.
