XR650L 20k miles (Phonecia) $2300

QR Code Link to This Post I have an 05 XR650L with 20k miles on it for sale. I've owned the bike since November and loved it. This bike has spent all of it's life in Georgia, there is no rust. Only rode in the rain once for 10 minutes. It's very capable off-road, and has plenty of power for the street. I love this bike and it runs great, except for some smoke that comes out of the exhaust. When I bought the bike, I had to rewire all of the blinkers. They all function fine now. The front two are original, and the rear are LED. There is two LED normal blinkers, and two LED strips that function as blinkers as well, so that people will see your turn signals easier. I also replaced both the clutch and front brake lever when buying the bike.I changed the oil every 2k miles. I've put about 4k miles on the bike, and changed it three times - when I first bought the bike, once at home, and once just a month ago. I've used Mobil 1 10w-40 every time. The most recent oil change, I used Honda GN4. I still have about half a gallon left, which comes with the bike. The bike hasn't burnt a lot of oil because I usually ride no faster than 50. When riding on the freeway, it'll burn more. This is normal for XR650L's. I change the filter every time I change the oil, I use a Wix 24944 filter. I replaced both tires on the bike in January. I put on new Continental TCK80's. I run 25 PSI usually in both tires, sometimes 30 on the street. I lower the air when riding offroad, usually to about 15 PSI. I haven't taken this bike on any real crazy offroading, mostly very rough forest roads. I love the tires for offroad riding, and they grip great on the road. The only negative component of them is how long they last - the rear tire is nearing replacement within maybe 1k miles. The front tire is great. Both tires were balanced when I put them on. I try to keep my stuff stock, so I only changed some of the lights of the bike. I put a small LED light bar on the front of the bike, it activates with the headlights. I replaced the OEM light because it's useless at night with LED, it's fantastic at night. This is the light I got - https://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Headlight-Lamp-For-Honda-XR250-XR650-Suzuki-DRZ-NEW-1PC/302266915104?fits=Model%3AXR650L&epid=714507186&hash=item4660831920%3Ag%3AIMEAAOSw9L1Zr3Kr&_sacat=0&_nkw=xr650l+led+headlight&_from=R40&rt=nc&LH_TitleDesc=0%7C0I replaced both rear lights with LED. Small orange blinkers, and I added two orange led strips in order for people to see the blinkers better. I have two LED lights for the front blinkers, but not the resistors. I never bothered with changing them, since I wanted people in front of me to see that I had my blinker on. The body of the bike is in good condition. This is a dualsport motorcycle, so it's supposed to be rode like a big dirtbike. It has scratches on the fairings because that's what happens when you own an XR. I've never crashed the bike hard, only slipping on mud offroad. Nothing is cracked. I took off the "wings" of the front of the bike. I circled them in this picture - https://imgur.com/a/LqNELqhI still have the "wings" of the bike, back at home in Georgia. The previous owner plasti-dipped them white, and I enjoy the look of the bike without them. It doesn't affect the function of the bike. I can have the wings sent up here if you want them, just pay for the shipping($20). I replaced both mirrors, they look better than OEM and don't vibrate on the highway at all. The one on the right is cracked, still functions fine and it's $10 to replace it on ebay. I have a DG exhaust on the bike, sounds much better than OEM.The engine of the bike runs fine, it may need a new piston rings. I changed the oil a few weeks ago, and the drain bolt came out while riding at about 30mph. I shut off the engine when I noticed it chugging. I then ordered an OEM washer and drain bolt, along with the GN4 oil. I put new oil in, and rode the bike about 10 gentle miles to get everyting lubricated. The bike has some white smoke exit the exhaust when you give it throttle. There is no smoke when idling. The carb is perfect. The engine runs fine, everything about it is fantastic except for the smoke. It still has all it's power and starts up great when cold. I have never had any problems with the bike, it's never failed me. I have a few accessories for the bike that come with it - A rear rack, two LED blinkers if you want to replace the front two, Cycra Proguard hanguards with triple tree mounts, and two footpegs. I'm selling the bike because I'm looking to buy a street oriented bike. I'm definitely looking for cash, but I may consider trades for a CB500 or something similar in good condition. Not looking for any fixer-uppers. I towed the bike here from Georgia, with a tarp covering it the entire time. It was garaged all it's life in Georgia, and it's been on concrete with a tarp for the past few months since I've been here.I have the clean GA title, don't bother trying to scam me, I know all the tricks. I've dealt plenty on Craigslist. I'm looking for either a sport bike in good condition, but ideally cash. No checks or money orders. Price is negotiable. Please text or email. I won't respond to any calls.
