WHY IT RATES: The recently renovated property has been repositioned to focus on an immersion in the wine country experience. —Janeen Christoff, TravelPulse Senior WriterMORE Hotel & ResortKokua Hospitality, LLC, an independent hotel management company based in San Francisco, announced the completion of Wine Country Inn & Cottages’ second phase of renovations.Situated between the Napa Valley towns of St. Helena and Calistoga, California, Wine Country Inn & Cottages joined Kokua Hospitality’s growing West Coast portfolio in early 2017 and has since undergone two phases of property enhancements. In conjunction with the unveiling of the recent redesign, Kokua Hospitality shares the details of the boutique’s holistic rebranding.Originally opened in 1975, Wine Country Inn & Cottages is a 29-room Napa retreat surrounded by acres of world-class vineyards and award-winning wineries. The spacious accommodations range from 20 cozy guestrooms, four spacious suites, and five separate cottages, 80 percent of which boast views of the vineyards, sprawling lawns and botanical varietals that surround.A large outdoor swimming pool, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, and a daily Wine Country breakfast add to the secluded retreat’s offerings for guests looking to escape into California’s beloved wine country.“We’re excited to reintroduce this hidden gem to Napa Valley and its visitors,” says Kirk Pederson, president of Kokua Hospitality. “With the completion of the physical upgrades and renovations, the property also brings an elevated repositioning and rebranding. Its new sophisticated attitude is intently focused on immersing guests into the intimate, rich culture of Napa that one would expect to uncover at an idealistic retreat tucked into the vineyards.”Jill Cole, managing principal of local interior design firm, Cole Martinez Curtis & Associates (C.M.C.A), led both phase one and two of Wine Country Inn & Cottages refurbishments.Phase one concluded in 2017 and consisted of a full renovation of the Winery House building’s guestrooms and common areas, including the guest reception zone and Living Room, a social space that invites guests to lounge, participate in weekly complimentary wine tastings with local vintners, and dine for breakfast daily. Phase two brought the refresh of 10 additional guestrooms and suites, cosmetic upgrades to the building’s exterior, and high-speed fiber optic Wi-Fi and 44-inch flat-screen HD televisions to all rooms on property.C.M.C.A. focused on an elegantly modern, calming design that is inspired by the vineyards found outside the windows. Subtle and understated, the interiors were conceived to frame the “pictures” of Napa’s colorful, always changing scenery. The soothing gray palette is intentionally soft and delicate to keep the view the star, while materials are textured and natural to relate to the seasonally changing environment and laid-back sophistication of the region.“Our refreshed interiors truly instill that sense of calming seclusion that visitors coming to Napa Valley seek,” states Stephany Drumm, general manager of Wine Country Inn & Cottages. “We look forward to having guests step on the property and immediately shift to a sense of relaxation and discovery.”In late spring of 2018, enhancements to the lawn area and the property’s sprawling landscaping will be made as the property continues its evolution. Part of the rebranding process, the hotel’s website was completely revamped, with additional branding modifications still to come. For more information or to make reservations at Wine Country Inn & Cottages, please visit www.winecountryinn.com.SOURCE: Kokua Hospitality press release.
