Klejst is the agency's new executive director. Klejst, who will lead the agency's investigations and recommendations staff, joins CSB after nearly a decade with the National Transportation Safety Board, where he was deputy managing director and director of the agency's railroad, pipeline and hazardous materials division.During his tenure with the NTSB, Klejst headed the NTSB investigation of major pipeline accidents, including the explosion of a major natural gas line in San Bruno, Calif., and the rupture of a hazardous liquid transmission line in Marshall, Mich., according to CSB's Feb. 21 announcement. Before joining the NTSB, Klejst had an executive career in the passenger railroad industry. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in chemistry and holds a master of science in management degree from the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J."We are excited to have Steve joining the leadership team of the agency," CSB Chairperson Vanessa Allen Sutherland said.
