VW Beetle Hotel Rivals World's Smallest

Spending the night inside of a broken down Volkswagen Beetle in the Jordanian desert hardly sounds like luxury.Improbably, one man in the village of Al Jaya has made it just that, converting his seasoned VW into a two-person hotel room where guests can take in some of the Middle East's most underrated views for just 40 Jordanian Dinars, roughly $56, per night."I wanted to start a project that improves its situation and places it on the tourism map because it truly overlooks some of the most beautiful scenery in the region," 64-year-old Mohammed Al Malaheem told CNN.MORE Hotel & ResortAl Malaheem opened the hotel in 2011 and later took out a loan to open a makeshift lobby in a nearby cave.His daughter furnished the converted car, which boasts handmade sheets and pillows. Al Malaheem compares the comfort and overall experience to that of a five-star hotel.Guests have more to look forward to than just a good night's sleep though. The creative owner serves visitors coffee, tea and traditional Jordanian snacks from the lobby.
