I was able to get it running as it was but still wanted to go through everything. Over the last year I had Nick at Vintage Smoke rebuild the engine and do a stage 1 port, included disassembling the crank, rebuilding the oil pump and adding one of his electronic ignition systems. The bike is now mostly reassembled and ready to go through some heat cycles and head retorqueing. Replaced brake calipers and lines, rebuilt both brake cylinders (was trying to keep original, but should probably be replaced). Still have original calipers. The brakes do seem to stop the bike when rolling, but don't feel "right". New sprockets and chain (rear sprocket and chain still need to be installed). Rebuilt carbs 3 years ago, I would go through them again. New tires/tubes, no miles. I still have a pile of parts I haven't installed (lights, blinker relay, wheel bearings..) Has Bassani expansion chambers also. Literally millions of these bikes were sold here and I believe most of the parts remain available from various sources. Get both running and ride worthy and you will easily double your money without a doubt.I make no claims other than both bikes do turn over with compression and both were running before being stored. I have a clear title for the 1971 and no paperwork for the 1970. Both do have the same engine skid plates but the 1970 one is not installed at this time but is fully intact and just needs the bolts as does the buddy seat on it. The 1970 also has a new carburetor on it as well as the original one that appears in good shape. I have 1 new dry battery and the jug of acid for it. Both have 2 keys.
