KLR650 KLR 650 2000 model – ride with goats! (Little Rock) $1499

QR Code Link to This Post Serious buyers only please!!! I don't have to sell this bike, but all my rowdy friends have settled down and I no longer need two KLR's, so maybe someone else will ride it more and enjoy some special views of Arkansas that only a KLR or goat can go. 18,011 miles... barely broken in LOL. Kawasaki on University checked it and set valves about 9 months ago and said it was fine. It did not tick beforehand; I just wanted to have it checked out because I had them check the headlight and had the money and I love the bike. The motor is strong like bull and dependable! Brand new headlight bulb last summer when it was cutting out. Ended up being a loose connector Kawasaki finally found. I've only rode it maybe 40 miles since last summer. Garage kept. She likes to be choked a good few minutes when she's cold, even after I had the valves set. She usually fires off and dies a couple of times before she'll stay going and warm up. It's never been a problem, just a consistent quirk she has. Maybe this is normal or maybe a choke jet is slightly clogged or something. You have to hold in the clutch on this model for it to even engage the starter so maybe the computer is doing this, because I can try to start it and every "other" time it fires. Like I can try once and it won't fire for shit, then next try it'll fire right off. After its first warmed up for the day it starts fine every time consistently. If you know what this could be let me know please!!! Front and rear shocks could use a rebuild or replacement maybe, but they're tuned in pretty evenly and I have the rear shock pretty stiff for passenger accomodation, which is commonly what you do on these bikes. I've ridden it in the mountains, on goat trails and up stairs and they work fine. The pre-08 KLR's were known to have slightly weak shocks anyways, so maybe I'm just comparing it to my 09 KLR's bigger shocks. Maybe the older KLR shocks were just that much weaker. This was the bike model the military used for years!! Of course they put diesel motors on them, but it's a very very tough bike and the stock motor is "like an anvil" to quote the parts guy at Kawasaki. My 2009 KLR is the same motor... because it's a great motor! Small hole bashed into the upper left fairing, but not a problem. I covered it with 100mph black tape (see pictures). plastics are old and scratched up beautifully and working fine. Call it petina. I put smaller turn signals on the back because the ginormous ones got in my way on the mount and dismount. The left rearview mirror and mirror mount are gone prior to my purchase of it. You don't need two mirrors. I put a sharp folding mirror on the right. Almost new Dunlop D606 front tire. Last I checked, D606 is the only tire rated for 100MPH, which this bike will do, and the D606's are truly a great tire. I've ran 2 sets off my 09 klr and they have amazing grip and toughness. Double thick tube installed with front tire. What else... After about 3 weeks the battery will drain down enough that you can't start it, but I put a quick connect on it for my battery tender. The battery is maybe 3 years old and maintenance free, but it's reliable if you just ride the bike once every couple of weeks at least. Just flushed and repadded the rear brakes last summer and all the brakes work fine. Clutch works fine. Turn signals work fine, but when you show up they may decide to quit because that's what all my enduro's tend to do. Serious buyers only please. Show me that you have the ca$h money and a Motorcycle endorsement on your license and sign a waiver of liability and I'll let you test ride it for 15 minutes max. Please understand, too many people want to joy ride and don't even have the money to buy. I've had it happen more than once with other toys. If you want to see it perform I will ride it around for you and show you whatever. Then when you go get the money and show it to my face you can ride it if you really need to. I'm a legit, good guy and have a completely clean record and we can meet at a gas station with camera's if you're squeamish about flashing your cash. I can understand that side of it too. I have the clear ARKANSAS TITLE IN-HAND READY TO SIGN OVER TO YOU!! Then, we should plan a good long ride around lake Winona or up some nearby trails and smile til our faces hurt!
