The Sale Creek Fire Department responded to the fire alarm, and firefighters saw smoke and flames visible from a sawdust collection silo behind the building. The fire was contained to the ductwork and the silo, according to the report, which said the cause of the fire is believed to be from a spark from a machine used during the pencil manufacturing process.Fifteen firefighters responded and Hamilton County EMS and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office also responded, according to the report.
