Η παράλυτη Ρίβερ ψάχνει σπίτι (please scroll down for English)Microchip 941000016722676Η Ρίβερ εντοπίστηκε μέσα στον Πηνειό, ανίκανη να κινηθεί, από διερχόμενους οι οποίοι ειδοποίησαν το σωματείο μας. Από ότι μας είπαν, την έβλεπαν μέσα στο νερό τουλάχιστον 3 ημέρες.Καταφέραμε να την ανασύρουμε με μεγάλη δυσκολία με την βοήθεια της Πυροσβεστικής και μεταφέρθηκε στο κτηνιατρείο σε κατάσταση σοκ και με βαριά υποθερμία.Όταν σταθεροποιήθηκε η κατάσταση της έγιναν ακτινογραφίες και μυελογραφία που έδειξαν σοβαρό κάταγμα στον τέταρτο οσφυικό σπόνδυλο. Αποφασίσαμε σε συνεργασία με τους γιατρούς μας,να μεταφερθεί στην Κτηνιατρικη Σχολή του ΑΠΘ για ένα πολύ δύσκολο χειρουργείο, με την ελπίδα πως θα καταφέρει να ξαναπερπατήσει..Δυστυχώς παρά το χειρουργείο και τις καθημερινές φυσιοθεραπείες για σχεδόν τρεις μήνες, η Ρίβερ δεν δείχνει σημεία βελτίωσης, η βλάβη στον νωτιαίο μυελό ήταν μη αντιστρεπτή. Διάταξη αναγνώρισης σωματείου 354/2012.Paralyzed River needs a homeRiver, a less than a year old mixed sepherd puppy was found lying in the water of the river Pinios, that runs through the city of Larisa, Central Greece. We were informed that she was in the water at least three days, unable to move. We managed to pull her out of the water with the help of the fire department. She was transferred to the vet clinic hypothermic, due to the prolonged stay in the water, in shock and in severe pain.When her condition was stabilized we performed X rays and myelography which revealed a severe spinal fracture, at the fourth lumbar vertebrae which has damaged the bone marrow and compromised the root of the sciatic nerve, causing the paralysis. After consultation of our vet with the head of the surgical unit of the Veterinary School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, we decided to transfer her there for emergency surgery, hoping to salvage some nerve activity.Unfortunately three months after the spinal surgery, despite the subsequent daily physiotherapies, she shows no signs of improvement. Evidently the serious fracture and the prolonged stay in the river until she was rescued, resulted in non reversible bone marrow necrosis. Our River is permantly paralysed.The only solution now for River to have an as normal as possible life, is a wheelchair, that will allow her to leave the clinic, where she is staying since the day that we found her.
