New global survey report shows women living with HIV experience high rates of gender-based violence.

"Many women with HIV come from diverse backgrounds, such as drug use, sex work, being lesbian or transgender. Women are often in relationships where they do not have the financial means to leave and are reliant on their partners, placing them in an unequal power dynamic and open to further abuse and blackmail."

Last month the results of a global survey on women living with HIV were published. The survey was designed and conducted by women, and commissioned by the World Health Organisation. Will the findings be acted upon?

Three years ago on this day, advocates from around the world, working to end inappropriate use of the criminal law to regulate and punish people living with HIV, came together to create the Oslo Declaration on HIV Criminalisation. In this video they explain why they support it.

"Et puis, continuons à être choqués, parce qu'il y a vraiment de quoi. Une histoire invraisemblable, qui montre à quel niveau peuvent s'abaisser les "têtes familières de gouvernants" chères à Moscovici pour gagner coûte que coûte les élections en Grèce et continuer la politique d'austérité décidée à Bruxelles. Cela se passe avant les élections de 2012. Et c'est incroyable. Accablant. Les ministres de la Santé et de l'Ordre Public organisent de gigantesques rafles dans les rues d'Athènes pour arrêter, devant les caméras de la télé, des femmes susceptibles d'avoir le Sida, les conduire au commissariat pour leur faire passer un test, emprisonner et inculper de crime celles qui sont positives, et, pire encore, mais c'est tout l'objet de ces rafles télévisuelles, faire défiler leurs visages, leurs noms, leurs adresses dans les journaux télé pour "permettre à ceux qui auraient été en contact avec elles" de se savoir en danger. Il s'agissait pour ces ministres de montrer qu'ils protégeaient d'une main de fer la Grèce empoisonnée par les étrangères pour être réélus après une publicité d'enfer.
Rappelons la date : 2012. Le lieu : la Grèce, l'Europe. On ne se souvient pas que cela ait scandalisé l'Union Européenne. Ce sont des gens bien, responsables. Pour tout dire, des ministres.

Il en dit très long aussi sur la qualité de l'information en Grèce dans les chaînes privées (il n'y a plus que ça, la chaîne publique ayant été décapitée par décret pour faire des économies).

Conclusion / avec Syriza devant dans les sondages, on peut s'attendre à une campagne électorale très sale le mois qui vient en Grèce, où tout sera bon pour faire peur aux gens, avec d'énormes moyens, assurés par le financement en sous-main de tous les "candidats de l'ordre" par leurs partisans en Europe et aux USA.
