Ἡ λύπη μου ὅτι δὲν κυβέρνησα οὔτε στιγμὴ τὸ καταπληκτικὸ Θαλασσινὸ σκαρί, τὸ κορμί σου. Ἀπὸ δείλια καὶ ἀτζαμοσύνη σήκωσα τὸ κόκκινο σινιάλο τῆς Ἀκυβερνησίας. Εἶδα χθές, πολλὲς φορὲς τὴν κοπέλα τῆς πλώρης: Τὴ λυσίκομη φιγούρα νὰ σκοτεινιάζει, νὰ θέλει νὰ κλάψει. Σὰ νά ῾χε πιστέψει γιὰ πρώτη φορὰ ὅτι πέθανε, ὁ Μεγαλέξανδρος, ὅμως τὸ καρχηδόνιο ἐπίχρισμά του ἔμενε τὸ ἴδιο λαμπρό. Μὲ τὸ αὐτοκρατορικὸ κάλυμμά του. Κόκκινο της Πομπηίας Rosso romano, πορφυρὸ τῆς Δαμασκός. Βελοῦδο ποὺ σκεπάζει ἱερὸ δισκοπότηρο. Ὄστρακο ὠκεάνιο ἁλμυρό. Κρασὶ βαθυκόκκινο ποὺ δίνει δόξα στὸ κρύσταλλο. Πληγὴ ἀπὸ κοπίδι κινέζικο.
