The goal is to prevent a universal lockdown in the city of Serres and ensure the strict implementation of all measures to limit the transmission of the coronavirus, Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, said on Friday in a meeting in the regional unit of Serres, ANA reports. Hardalias visited the region escorted by the president of the National Organisation for Public Health (NOPH), Panagiotis Arkoumaneas, following the Covid-19 epidemic outbreak in the region. He stressed that there is an aggressive outbreak in the area and added that "at the moment there are 239 active cases in the city of Serres, but with large movements in other neighboring municipalities, while there are 442 high-risk contacts that have been isolated. In the coming days, there will be more tests and targeted sampling, as well as continuous information to the public, in an effort to limit the transmission of the coronavirus."
