Covid-19: First local lockdown in Kozani prefecture of Northern Greece

The region of Kozani has gone on lockdown, as of today and for the next 14 days, until October 29, following the detection of 227 cases in the last two weeks. This is the first district to go under threat level 4, the highest of the new coronavirus-measures scales, int.ert.gr reports. The use of a mask is obligatory everywhere, in public and private spaces, gathering in private and public spaces is banned, and the Kozani residents are not permitted to travel beyond the region’s borders. Schools operate normally under strict measures including wearing of masks, while college-level courses may only be held online. Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias will visit the region of Kozani tomorrow, where the current situation and all the details concerning the implementation of measures, will be discussed. Yesterday, 453 new Covid-19 cases were announced in our country, of which 207 are located in Attica. Thirteen people have died due to the coronavirus, while 82 patients remain intubated.
