​#CoRplenary: local leaders discuss Europe’s vaccine strategy with WHO

Follow the plenary on the CoR website 4 February: Debate on Joining Forces to Launch and Implement New Cohesion Policy Programmes in Synergy with all Recovery ToolsAt the start of the 2021-27 programming period, Elisa Ferreira, Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, will discuss the priorities of the new cohesion policy, its role for a fair recovery and how to coordinate it with the other EU investment tools. 4 February: Debate on the Recovery of the Cultural and Creative Sectors and on the New European Research AreaMariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, will discuss the importance and challenges of recovery of the cultural and creative sectors, as well as the New European Research Area, for the creation of a single market for research, innovation and technology across the EU. 4 February: Debate on the Covid-19 Pandemic Vaccination CampaignDr Hans Henri P. Kluge, Regional Director for Europe, World Health Organization, will debate the progress and challenges of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 and the potential role that regions and cities should play. 4 February: Debate on the European Citizens' InitiativePedro Silva Pereira, Vice-President of the European Parliament in charge of European democracy and European citizens' initiative, and Christa Schweng, President of the European Economic and Social Committee, will discuss the European Citizens' Initiative, which, since coming into force in 2012, has encouraged citizens’ participation in the political life of the European Union. 5 February: Debate on Portugal's Presidency priorities of the European UnionAna Paula Zacarias, Secretary of State for European Affairs of the Portuguese Republic, will present and debate the priorities of Portugal's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
