QR Code Link to This Post 1978 Harley Davidson Sportster XLCH 1000 42,147 original miles -I was told by the 2nd owner that it started life as a 75th anniversary model. -I have all the service records and history from 1st and 2nd owners, I am the 3rd owner, I have owned it for 2yrs. -Complete motorcycle, was running and ridden Fall 2016, clean and clear title, not a basket case. -Engine is completely disassembled, neatly labeled and stored, and ready for rebuild. The front lower connecting rod bearing has play and the cylinders will need to be honed with new pistons/rings installed. It was running good when torn down, it just had a slight knock at higher rpm's. While disassembling I noticed one of the front cylinder base flanges was cracked, so I picked up a replacement cylinder. Which is why the hone and pistons/rings will be needed. -Missing seat and rear shocks, otherwise complete and organized -Speedometer/Odometer work but the lens is broken and will need to be replaced. -RR turn signal lens is half broken. -HD service manual and Clymer service manual -Dunlop Gold Seal K70 tires, ~75% tread (about 1,500mi of use) -Mikuni Carburetor, Branch manifold, vintage HD air cleaner assembly (all installed by original owner in late 70's) -Cycle Electric charge system -18" ape hangers and stock handle bars -spare parts, everything pictured -EK SRX2 chain, only ~1,500mi of use -stored indoors *2nd photo taken Fall 2016 $1500 obo or trade for 96-03 sportster
