Welcome the New Year in Athens at SNFCC’s First Run 2019

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation for Culture (SNFCC)  holds for the third year, a race for charity, a few minutes after midnight. The SNF Run: 2019 First Run is part of the center’s New Year events which include a live broadcast of Berlin Philharmonic’ traditional concert, a concert by Mario Biondi at the Stavros Niarchos Hall, a special DJ set by Fun Lovin ‘Criminals Huey Morgan, skating and a spectacular fireworks show to welcome 2019, int.ert.gr reports. The race will begin at 00:04 on Tuesday 1 January 2019 and covers a route four kilometers: from the illuminated Canal and the Esplanade, to the coastal front, the Athletics area and the Park Stavros Niarchos. The termination point is at the Canal, near the Visitors’ Center. The race is not competitive but there will be official timing. Medals will also be awarded to the top three winners and the top three winners (men and women). Each runner can offer a symbolic sum (minimum suggested amount: € 5), which will be entirely made available to a non-profit organization of his/her choice. With Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s contribution, the amount collected will triple, and will also be available to other non-profit organizations.
