There are many things to do in the Greek area of Meteora that might surprise you — including truffle hunting. That’s right, the serene and spiritual monasteries, perched high up on rock formations, tower over the magical and beautiful forests below which hold the treasure of truffles. In the forests near Kalampaka, you can go on an organized truffle hunt — as well as taste a delicious pasta dish made with local truffles hunted by “truffle dogs” — not to mention there is the Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum that you can check out.
