Europarliament discusses additional help to Greece on regional funds

A discussion focusing on special measures for Greece in regards to a review of the country's extra regional funding needs as of 2015 took place in Strasburg at the start of the plenary session of European parliament, ANA reports. European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Cretu, stressed that the measures provided crucial liquidity to Greece and that an amount of 2 billion euros had been paid in 2015 and 2016. This includes about one billion euros of additional prefinancing for the 2014-2020 programs. Additionally, one billion euros was paid as a result of the increased stake in cofinancing (100 percent) and the dropping of the higher limit to 95 percent of the total deposit for intermediate payments in 2007-2013.
