QR Code Link to This Post Here we have for sale a nice 1956 Volkswagen Oval Window bug. This is a really collectible and rare style of bug to find today. You don't see 50's oval window bugs come up for sale. The bug is a very nice driver and has a strong running 1835cc dual carb engine with a newer style transaxle in it. The oval has some cool old accessories on it too. The body and pan are in good shape. The numbers all match on the body and pan on the bug. The fenders are in good shape too! The bug has an old paint job on it that is in fair condition. It like a matte green/grey but probably used to be shiny, many years ago. The bug has some very rare accessory 1950's finned wheel covers. These are super rare to find and were made for 50's bugs. The hubcaps are new and are the expensive German made ones that are actually made well. The interior was all redone. I restored the seats and power coated the frames to match the original color. I bought the expensive, and correct for oval window seat covers and door panels from Wolfsburg West. It's the original color that would of been in the car from the factory. The seats were covered by a professional upholstery shop here in town. The carpet is also the expensive, and correct German carpet from Wolfsburg West too. The headliner is in great shape too with no issues or tears. The rubber mats are all from Wolfsburg West and are what would of come originally in the bug. Somebody many many years ago added an accessory electric Sun tach and VDO oil temp and gas gauge in the dash. The VDO gauges are NOS and I have all of the components that go to hook them up and the old Sun tach is hooked up to the original sender that is under the rear seat. Not sure why it doesn't work. I'm not an expert in wiring. The interior looks awesome in the car. It's done how the car should of been if you restored the car. The interior also has original accessory dual sun visors, original accessory Motorola radio, original accessory gas pedal, accessory bent shifter and a grab handle on the glove box and driver door. The shifter and emergency brake handle are also power coated to match the seat frames. The gas tank was just professionally cleaned at a radiator shop in town. I had all new fuel lines put in the car and a new clutch, throw out bearing, disc and the flywheel just got resurfaced. I just spent nearly $800 at a shop in town to made sure that the bug is ready to go and drive this summer. The engine is a 1835 with brand new, twin baby Weber carbs. I put a rare, high performance Bosch blue screamer distributor that make the engine run even better. That was a rare accessory distributor to run in your Porsche or VW back in the day. The engine has a vintage, old chrome EMPI fan shroud on it. The engine also has a very rare, accessory, original Abarth exhaust system on it. Lastly the heater boxes were powder coated in black to make the underneath look good. The bug is still 6volt and I just put a brand new battery in it. It starts right up and all of the lights work in it. The bug runs and drives great! The engine runs great and has a ton of power to get you were you need to go. It has a ton of pep and handles very nicely. The transmission shifts nicely throughout all the gears and the brakes stop well too. The front windshield does have a crack in it. It had a chipped that just cracked when it started to get hot out. The windshield wipers work too. Don't miss out on this rare and collectible 1956 Volkswagen VW bug. I am asking $14,000 or trade for a vintage pre 1978 motorcycle. Please call show contact info if you have any questions.
