Greek Tourism Confederation’s head Yiannis Retsos: SETE alongside local communities

Greek Tourism Confederation's (SETE) ambitious strategy for a holistic sustainable tourism development that will substantially interlink the industry with other sectors, such as agri-food and culture, was developed by Association President Yiannis Retsos, who addressed the 16th SETE Conference today."Every region of our country has a wealth of local agri-food products as well as cultural heritage, customs and traditions. It is our priority not only to preserve them, but also to interconnect and highlight them through tourism", Mr. Retsos stressed and added:"We must be present in all the destinations of our country, both the established and the less developed, with constant offers and interaction."He also unveiled that SETE leadership has already conducted informative tours to various destinations across the country such as Alexandroupolis, Thessaloniki, Volos, Patras, Santorini, Corfu and Crete."We want to hear the voice and the anxieties of all the people who make up the long chain of tourism," Retsos said and continued:"Let us record the needs and try together to find solutions to the issues that arise. Thus, we will be able to maximize the contribution of tourism and expand its benefits. During next week, we will be visiting Rhodes while other meetings will also follow in Ioannina, Lamia and Tripoli. Our aim is to be at the core of Greek tourism. Right alongside the small or big professional, next to the Greek producer. Close to the local communities. To record the issues that must be resolved immediatelly and shape the agenda of the debate right where the heart of Greek tourism beats."RELATED TOPICS: Greece, Greek tourism news, Tourism in Greece, Greek islands, Hotels in Greece, Travel to Greece, Greek destinations , Greek travel market, Greek tourism statistics, Greek tourism report
