QR Code Link to This Post So a dear friend passed away recently and his wife called asking if I wanted his Indian motorcycle that had been in storage for 25 years..Of course I was excited, til I got to see it...Anyway, here's the scoop: In the early 70's the American Moped Company out of California purchased the Indian Motorcycle Company....So this really is an Indian! It has a four-stroke engine and was manufactured in India. The odometer showed 180 miles when I got it....I cleaned the carb, changed crankcase oil and it fired right up...49cc engine does about 25mph...speedo cable broke immediately upon movement...includes rear fiberglass bag and windshield....I replaced the pedals as the originals fell apart when I tried to start it...Chrome had some surface rust, so I cleaned it and shot it with a coat of enamel to stop any further rust....A complete restoration would be a piece of cake....This machine is a valid part of Indian history and should be in the collection of anyone who loves and collects Indian motorcycles....If you believe this , please buy it....It is located in Clearwater, FL...I leave it to you to arrange shipping or you are welcome to come buy and pick it up.....Thanks for looking!
