I purchased it 10 or 11 months ago with around 8900 miles. It now has just under 10,000 miles. The man I purchased it from owned it since 1998 with 4925 miles, the orginal owner was his friend. Motorcycle has always been garaged and also under a cover which I still have and a tank bra which I took off, but still have. When I purchased it it had been sitting for a few years. I put a battery in it. Drained all the gas, spayed the carbs as it turned over and it started up. It ran very rough, but just kept lightly spraying and it got better. Changed the oil and filter, Put tank back on, and fuel cleaner in the tank and that was it. I DID NOT EVER REMOVE THE CARBS OR THE BOWLS. I have driven the bike right at a 1000 miles. Bike is a bit cold blooded, need to adjust the choke for a couple minutes as it warms up, but it will settle into about 1000rpm in a couple minutes. Idle isn't perfect, but it will not stall on you. Never has let me down. Runs a bit sluggish until around 3000, then runs like a champ. In my opinion the carbs need to be removed and professionally cleaned and then synchronized. Still runs very strong and is very fast. Be sure look up old facts and stories on these. I had a new one back in 1995 and loved it. I would run with the best of them. I also put on a new rear and rear brakes at Star City Motorsports here in Lincoln. Check out the pics closely, Bike was lightly down with me on the right side. I has hit at a stop light. That is the damage to the right fairing and muffler, but as you will see it was not bad at all. Scuff on right handle bar end also. Some light scuffs on left side and scuffs both sides by the front of the seat. This bike still looks great from a few feet away and the paint is still shines nicely.. just want to get all things out there now. I drive this bike to work a few times a week and short 30 mile trips down the highway, Runs great out on the road.
