In Cyprus 99% of the coasts submitted to EU control - where blue flags have been assigned - have excellent  quality waters (the highest distinction), according to a communiqué issued by the European Commission today.This performance brings Cyprus to the second place in the EU, second only to Luxembourg (which has far less declared bathing water sites).
