γενικως οι συμβολοκαβλοι ξεχνουν οτι ως σημαια επιλεγεις ενα απο τα (συνηθως) ΠΟΛΛΑ συμβολα που ειχες κατα καιρους στην ιστορια σου. Μπορεις και να το αλλαξεις.

Η σημαια της Εταιριας Ανατολικων Ινδιων ηταν εμπορικη, με πανω αριστερα την εθνικη προελευση (Αγγλια). Αυτο γινοταν συχνα στις ναυτικες σημαιες πολλων κρατων. Και αυτη που εμεις χρησιμοποιουμε σημερα, ναυτικη ηταν.

Ναι Νίκο, η σημαία που έχουμε τώρα ήταν ναυτική και το σχέδιό της είναι από τη σημαία της Εταιρίας Ανατολικής Ινδίας ενώ τα χρώματά της από τα εθνικά χρώματα της Βαυαρίας

Τέτοια μπαγιάτικη νοοτροπία στους Έλληνες του Καναδά δεν την περίμενα όταν ήρθα. Σήμερα που έχω τον δίχρονο γιο μου δεν πλησιάζω την ελληνική κοινότητα αν και θα ήθελα να βρεθεί σε περιβάλλον όπου θα ακούσει ελληνικά. Δυστυχώς κάθε δραστηριότητα της ελληνικής κοινότητας (π.χ. σχολείο, χοροί, κλπ) έχει και ένα μάτσο φωτοστέφανα. Όσο για ψήφο όσο και αν ήθελα να ψηφίσω καλύτερα που οι εδώ δεν ψηφίζουν. Σίριουσλι έχει γραφεία η ΧΑ στο Μοντρεάλ και στο Τοροντο έχει φανς. Να μας λείπει......ΑΣΕ και που ψηφίζουν εδώ μπάχαλο έχει γίνει.

θυμηθηκα, ο στρατος που δημιουργηθηκε επι Καποδιστρια, ειχε γαλαζιες σημαιες με λευκο σταυρο. Ηδη απο το 1828.

Everything happens for a reason, and sometimes that reason is that you are stupid and you make bad decisions. Yes, the flag is there for a reason. The reason is that when the flag was created, the ones creating it (and the people they led as a herd) were religious. A country is not "a land where x religion lives". It's a land where x people live - and even the "x people" is fluid. What's not fluid is that it's the PEOPLE, not the religion. So yes, the flag's reason is stupid, but it's not important enough to bother with, anyway.
